want a freaky story?
Thursday last week. exam day. around 0930.
Ms. Boots, my second year homeroom adviser, texted me:
"may problema ako. MATUTULUNGAN MO BA ME?"
(it was weird coz that's not how she sends her sms.)
since i ran out of load, i went to the faculty room during dismissal time (1100) to talk to her personally. i waited for around 15 minutes, until i overheard someone say that Ms. Boots went to a conference that morning.
so when i was able to reload around 1200, i texted her...
"Ms. boots, i've been looking for you since dismissal time...but you were out daw. how can i help you?"
around 1230:
Ms. Boots: "my problem is i need money."
me: "now? i just got home." (well, i didn't know what to say...i didn't wanna ask how much.)
Ms. Boots: "now. kahit pang-load lang. may importante kasi akong kausap sa cell e."
so i was thinking
"....hmmm...it must be that important coz she wouldn't text ME, of all people, just to ask for load. and maybe since she needs it immediately, she expects me to buy the call card, and text her the digits...she's in a conference, and she must be busy to get it herself."
but i didn't want to spend 300 bucks...so i asked our helper to buy the globe 100 load.
Ms. Boots: "ikaw na lang bumili kung okay lang."
(our helper was taking forever to get the card.)
me: "call card number: ######## call card pin ##### ...ms. boots sorry 100 lang cash ko...but i hope it helps."
"if ever, i might be able to get cash later." (just so i wouldn't sound selfish)
Ms. Boots: k lang.
and the next days were as weird. she kept texting me, even in the wee hours, asking if i have extra cash....she kept ringing my phone.
but i knew everything was a joke.
and i only got to confirm today, when i saw Ms. Boots during club time.
a lot of people whose numbers were saved in her phonebook went through the same thing,
her phone was stolen right in front of her house.
good thing i was a little "selfish" and gave only 100 peso worth of load.
tsk tsk.
