College Day is one of the Student Council's major activities...so coming from the retreat, we were back to work. we were actually cramming already...if only it's not the week after four days in Baguio!
Tanya and I draggedd Misssy for video shoot, Monday after class. her (Misssy's) boyfriend was with us as we toured the school to take her video. we started from the High school, to the Grade School, to the Child Study Center, then to the College. after that, we headed to her dorm to take the "shower" shot, and the waking up and the sleeping scenes. it was so much fun! took us a couple of hours to finish the shooting. by 8 pm, Tanya and i were heading home.
we edited the video the next day. we were supposed to edit it in school since we have user-friendly editing programs already (the one we use for video-production elective class), but since the AV office is only open until 1700, and we were cramming, we had to go to Digital Dojo. it's less expensive than Editworx! 300/hour. we stayed there for 3 hours. Jason, the editor, was nice enough to help us make a really good video.
and then it was the BIG day. it was raining, but nevertheless, College Day celebration pushed through. Ms. Wada said it was successful...but still, we can't help but feel frustrated about some aspects of it. sigh.
there'll be more Student Council activities to come...Christmas Party, Intramurals, Teacher's Day and the FAIR...maybe they'll turn out better if we just work on them really hard...
* * *
the previous week was Misssy's last week as a substitute teacher (i think she'll be back for our class when Sir Fermin leaves for that conference he has to attend soon), but she was there for the College Day celebration. of course she had to be there to watch her video! ;p when the program was done, and everyone else was heading back to their classrooms, i approached her. she was with few girls from my class. My was there...she was holding this pile of letters. and as she handed them all to Misssy, she couldn't help but feel awkward knowing that i was looking directly at the letters she was trying make Misssy keep in her bag immediately. CRAP! double CRAP! on top of the pile was THE LETTER!
during the pre-retreat inside our classroom Tuesday last week, i made her read a retreat letter (not THE LETTER) i got. she said she'll read THE LETTER only when we get to Baguio...so i was like
"oh, okay...then i'll just read THE LETTER after you read it in Baguio."
we were inside our room when she started reading her retreat letters. she had a lot...so i was kinda telling her to read THE LETTER first so i could have my turn. but then she wanted to go thru them one at a time, starting from the Banaag letters. so i had to wait. and then she said
"ayan na...it's next :)" she was opening THE LETTER already. Aurea, Bong and i were chatting while My was reading THE LETTER. and when she finally placed THE LETTER down, i said
"o, asan na?"
"ha? hindi ko pwede pabasa e."
"bakit?"
"kasi.....may something sa letter..."
"oh, okay..."
pause
and then i faced the other side of my bed. i was really pissed. totally pissed!
"sorry, bad trip ka ba?"
what a question! i pretended not to hear.
few minutes before that incident, i finished reading her retreat letter for me. last year, we both didn't have any for each other. she actually took time to write me one this year. she wrote something about
secrets piling up...about not being able to share some stories to each other anymore.
and it just made me more frustrated!
i gave her cold treatment the whole afternoon of that day, but i eventually gave up, knowing that it was senseless. and, of course, i couldn't possibly let that incident ruin our retreat. so by that evening, we were okay with each other already. i had to let it pass.
and then what? i see THE LETTER, together with a few more, on Misssy's hand.
wrong timing, dear. you should have handed them to her when nobody else was looking...or at least when i wasn't looking. i didn't know how to react. i just dragged Aurea and Tanya with me, and left the crowd.
when we were having the classroom party, she sat down beside me like nothing happened. i know she knows something happened, but she was trying to ignore it. i was planning to give her the cold treatment again, but i couldn't. i simply couldn't do it again just for some stupid letter.
there was an awkward silence as we tried to walk to the cafeteria during dismissal time. i was feeling uncomfortable so when we reached the caf, i told her i had to go and catch my school bus.
triple crap.
