retreat highlights...

there were three big rooms (around 15 students each), which we have labeled accordingly. Silid-Tulugan 1 was the "Dormitory." Silid-Tulugan 2 (my room) was the "Charity Ward" and had an "underground" part. Silid-Tulugan 3 was the "Evacuation Center" ...but mind you, all three rooms were comfortable enough for us to do the weirdest stuff. ST 1 and ST 3 usually had girls playing card games. and of course you won't miss the endless eating, chatting, and picture taking inside all three rooms.
i liked our room. we had our own side table, which were big enough for almost all the stuff i brought with me. each girl in our room had a chair and a lamp. and it was only in our room where they had cabinets. ST 1 had wooden beds, while ours were steel (or whatever you call it)...but ours were nicer than ST 3's (teeeheee). and of course, the underground was just fantastic. we held a very sacred ceremony in there....the cutting of Bea's long hair. eeeek. people from the other rooms crowded in our room to see how we tried acting like those people in parlors. tsk tsk.

during the first session on Thursday afternoon, Sister Anne gave each one of us a piece of flower....they were a combination of Wild Irises and Gumamela. i was in awe when Sister Anne told us that those Irises from their garden would only bloom once...and it just so happened that they bloomed on the afternoon that we arrived. i took a walk the next day, and i actually found the Irises in the garden.....yes, THEY WERE ALREADY WILTING.

the garden was uber nice! it was like a mountain trail...it was so big 5 people can go separate ways and not see each other. make that 10...or so. there were caves and small igorot huts. there was this beautiful well and this steep hanging bridge. and the plants around the garden were just really nice.

litson manok, mixed vegetables, tuna sandwich, fried galunggong with tomatoes, hotdog, scrambled egg, turon, sinigang na baboy, tokwa, pancit, puto, lumpiang shanghai, soup, tuyo, fried talong, egg with tomatoes, kutsinta, ginataan, pan de sal and butter, macaroni soup, more vegetables....fruits, chocolates and assorted pastries for dessert.
whew...yummmmmmyyy!!!
and the good thing was they just let us eat as much as our tummies could take...unlike last year's retreat wherein we were limited to 2 servings of each kind that were placed on a table for 6 students.

-the palanca reading- a couple of the retreat letters i got made me cry. i really love getting those well-written letters. i'd choose getting those over getting gifts sometimes. i think i like them coz they make me cry 51% of the time. "important" gifts make me cry 49% of the time. yaaarkkk. sorry, labo ba? the really long ones just had to make me shed some tears.
i have few emails from my inbox that have made me cry. and even text messages do...as long as i'm really bothered my something big...and i'm in pms mode.
nyahahahahaa!

oh...i did not surrended my phone. shhhhhh...they'll kill me! eeeeek.
so everyone else was excited to get their phones back on Friday night....except for me. tsk.

we had eyebrow plucking and shaving session inside the room. erk erk.

we had pottery painting on Friday afternoon. fun fun fun!

and Friday night was party night. we stayed inside the auditorium, had the fire place lit, and had a really fun program. there were presentations from the different rooms. ours had Bring It On cheering, Brittney Spears, Spice Girls and boy bands. the two Brittneys sang and danced a medley of Spear's songs. Spice Girls presented "Spice Up Your Life" and "Too Much." We (trying hard to be boybands) presented "Get Down" and "God Must Have Spent a Little More Time on You" ...and to end the pop battle, we sang "What Can I Do" (which was not a pop song, btw) with matching voicing (eeeeek) and "I Never Had A Dream Come True" (we had to choose a song that we could dedicate to the class and was sang by a pop band made up of boys and girls). and, oh, we included somewhere in our presentation a Masculado song and that Spaghetti song. erk erk.
ST 3 had a presentation of songs from 1st grade to 4th year....Shalalalala, Macarena, Spice Girls songs, Ketchup Song...stuff like those.
ST 1 presented 33 songs (well, excerpts)...1 song for each student in class, excluding them. they picked a song which reminded them of the particular person. it was fun trying to figure out why they chose this song and that for this girl and that. i'll post my song next time :)

what else? can't think. will post more next time!

fun fun fun!!!
